LANDON POWELL
Landon graduated from the University of South Carolina after leading his team to three consecutive trips to the College World Series. While there, he was a 2 time team captain, 2 time SEC all-conference player, 2 time All-American, 3 time Academic All-American, finalist for the Johnny Bench Award, 2004 State of South Carolina Amateur Athlete of the Year, 2004 USC Male Athlete of the Year, and was named to the Rosenblatt College World Series All-Time Legends Team.
A 2004 1st round pick of the Oakland A's, he played 3 years in the Major Leagues from 2009-12 and caught the 19th Perfect Game in MLB history, thrown by Dallas Braden on May 9, 2010. Landon and his family now reside in Greenville, SC after retiring from a 10 year career in professional baseball. |
